Digital cameras have definitely been one of mankind's greatest inventions over the past few decades. They are able to take great photographs of scenery, people and situations of course, but there are several other situations where taking a digital photo can come in handy. One of the best things about digital compared to film is that the images are quick to take, quick to view and quick to throw, making them an ideal memory aid.
Here are seven ways to use your memory card as a substitute for your own memory:
- One of the most important things to do is to do is make sure your camera can be tracked back to you if you lose it. One great way to do this is to write down your name and contact information, then take a photo of it and lock it into your memory card.
- When travelling, it's a good idea to take photos of important maps, routes, and schedules. You can then zoom in on the photo anytime you need to reference the information or you can't find your hotel room. Since you can send images viabluetooth or email it's a great way to share directions too.
- When parking your car in a large lot, try taking a photo of the floor, section or row you left your car so it's easy to find on the way out. For those of you who are litigious, you may also want to record licence plates of cars around you, just in case you get back and find your vehicle has been damaged or scratched.
- If you're about to take an object apart, such as a laptop computer, take a photo of the way it looked before you started disassembling it. This way if you have a screw left over, you may be able to figure out where it belongs.
- Record hard to remember pieces of information such as addresses, telephone numbers, serial numbers, model types, and shopping lists and recipes. In fact, if you can take a picture of it, you can store it in the camera's memory rather than your own. Capture any useful piece of information you may need later, great if your pen has just run out of ink!
- And last but not least, if you have an important meeting or date to attend and don't have a mirror to check yourself out, then just take a photo and see how hot you really look.
Other helpful items to take shots of include things such as broken parking meters, non-working traffic lights and obstructed stop signs. This way if you're accused of a minor infraction you have the evidence on camera to back up your reasons for it. It's also a good idea to take photos of anything you rent, such as a car, in case you find a scratch or dent in it.
With many new models of mobile phones including decent digital cameras, you'll probably already be carrying a camera with you wherever you are, so taking these snaps should be just as easy as making a note, if not easier!
